FAQ'S Section

When is registration?

Online pre-registration opens in March for the fall season.

Where can we find registration information?

If you are on Facebook, follow our page as we will post registration information and updates there as well as on our website. The link for pre-registration is also posted on the WASD Community Bulletin Board and is sent out via email weekly throughout the month of March.

Is the online form all I need to complete to participate?

No! Online PRE-registration is the first step in the process. We will offer 2 opportunities in April to come in person for sizing, to submit payment, volunteer deposit checks and pick-up your raffle tickets. Finalizing registration in-person is required.

What happens if I do not pre-register or I miss the in-person dates?

Both of these steps are required. If you are not pre-registered, unfortunately we will not be able to complete the second step for sizing and payment. If you pre-register and do not attend in-person sizing, you will be removed from the roster.

Do you take late registrations?

No, unfortunately we do not take late registrations.

Why do you start registration so early and not take late sign-ups?

There are a lot of items that need to be ordered, sorted, and handed out prior to the start of the season. We are often met with inventory issues and delays, which do not leave us a lot of wiggle room for late add-ons. Because of this, once we complete sizing in April and submit our orders, we do not take any late additions.

When does the season start?

Cheer camp is always held the last weekend of July and practices generally start the Monday after. Games will start mid-August and run through as late as mid-November depending on playoffs.

Where and when are practices and games?

All practices for football and cheer are held at Donaldson Park on the large multipurpose field. Football should expect to practice 5 days the first week in order to complete the mandatory heat acc training. After that, they will practice 4 days per week until school starts and then 3 days per week for the remainder of the season. Cheer should expect to practice 3 days per week until school starts and then 2 days per week for the remainder of the season. Our practices are usually Monday-Thursday from 6-8pm. Football may have a walkthrough on a Saturday morning from time to time depending on schedules.

Our home games are played on Sundays at the West Allegheny High School Stadium. Away games could be Saturday or Sunday and will vary on location.

What are the grade restrictions to participate?

WAYFC is open to any athlete who will be entering KG-6th grade for the upcoming school year.
